About Sara
Hi, I'm Sara Smith!
I've been behind a camera for over 20 years and officially started photographing clients in 2005. After earning my degree in Commercial Photography in 2008, I spent time as a photographer and graphic artist in the newspaper industry,
a photographer in portrait studios, and managing a few retail photo labs — but owning my own business was always the dream.
That dream became Sara Smith Photography, LLC, and over the years it's given me the opportunity to do what I love while spending more time with my husband and our two kids. These days, you'll still find me photographing sports portraits and special moments, but my creative journey has expanded far beyond photography.
For the past two years, I've served as the merchandise coordinator and graphic artist for our local school's booster club, designing spirit wear and apparel for athletes, families, and fans. That experience sparked another dream and led to the formation of Smith Apparel Co., where I now spend much of my time creating apparel inspired by sports moms, busy families, and everyday life. No matter what project I'm working on—behind the camera, designing graphics, or building a brand—I love creating things that bring people together and celebrate the moments that matter most!
When I'm not working, you'll probably find me at a ball field or dance competition cheering on my kids, grabbing an iced latte, or brainstorming my next creative idea!
